National Institute of Technology Scholarship

Application Notes

Applications are accepted annually through recommendations by school heads only (direct student applications are not accepted). For details on submitting the application, please contact the respective school.

(Purpose)

  1. The purpose of this scholarship is to contribute to the encouragement of industrial education to raise the level of industrial technology in Japan.

(Eligibility Criteria)

  1. Students must be enrolled in the fifth year of a national, public, or private technical college in Japan.

(Amount and Timing of Benefits)

  1. Stipend: 480,000 JPY per year (40,000 JPY per month)
    Stipend Period: One (1) year
    Stipend Period: For national schools, the stipend period follows the National Institute of Technology’s provisions.
     Public and private schools are subject to their regulations.
    Payment Method: Bank transfer to a bank account under the scholarship recipient’s name.

  1. Number of Recipients: 124 persons

(Application Procedure)

  1. Follow the procedure below to complete the application:
    (1) National Technical Colleges
     The National Institute of Technology provides application procedure.
    (2) Public and Private Technical Colleges
    a. The Foundation and each technical college must sign a memorandum (Form 1) concerning the Amano Institute of Technology Scholarship at the beginning of each academic year.
    b. Each technical college must create and submit their own scholarship candidate recommendation criteria (hereinafter “Recommendation Criteria”) to the Foundation.
    c. Each technical college will decide on scholarship candidates based on the Recommendation Criteria and must submit a recommendation letter (Form 2) to the Foundation no later than.

( Determination of Scholarship Recipients)

  1. The Board of Directors will determine the scholarship recipients.

(Annual Reporting Obligations)

  1. Follow the procedure below to complete reporting:
    (1) National Technical Colleges
     The National Institute of Technology provides reporting procedure.
    (2) Public and Private Technical Colleges
    The results of the year’s work will be submitted to the Foundation’s President through the school.
    a. Submission Deadline: March 31
    b. Documents to be submitted:
    Essay “Memories of school life and hopes for the future” (Form 5).
    – Career path after graduation.
    – Transcripts.

(Obligation to Report Changes)

  1. Scholarship recipients must promptly report any leave of absence, withdrawal, or change in status to the Foundation. Failure to report on time may result in the obligation to return the scholarship. Reporting can be done in any format deemed appropriate.
